The Altadena Library is throwing a Must Love Book – Speed Dating event at its facilities on Friday, August 25th. For two hours you will have the chance to network and meet other singles in the area who share your passion and love for books and reading. To ease any awkward pauses, complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served, and drinks will be available (for purchase) from Altadena Ale & Wine House.
Jane Austen, meet Salman Rushdie. Have some dip. Nurse a nice little pinot.
Mindy Kittay, Director at Altadena Library District, commented to ColoradoBoulevard,net about the event:
We are excited to offer this fun event as part of our adult summer reading program. This is another example of the library’s commitment to being a connector in the community, bringing people with shared interests together.
The speed dating will be immediately followed by a live music, dance concert with the world guitar master and guitarist El Twanguero and his band.
You must RSVP as space is limited. Doors will open at 6:00pm. Speed Dating will begin promptly at 6:15pm.
The Altadena Library District is cautioning that due to space limitations and their goal to keep the event balanced for all participants, they may not be able to accept all registrants.
