Share Your Poems With the World: Altadena Workshop With LA Poet Laureate

Writing a poem is a challenge; discovering effective ways to share it can be a mystery. The Altadena Poets Laureate have invited Lynne Thompson, the 2021–22 Los Angeles Poet Laureate, to lead this workshop and help writers demystify that process.

This interactive workshop, aimed at ages 18+, will take place on Saturday, February 21, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Mirror Room at the Altadena Library’s Loma Alta Park location.*

Participants will learn how to navigate the world of literary submissions through practical guidance on organizing their work, identifying appropriate markets, and exploring opportunities that support a path to publication.

Lynne Thompson is the author of Start with a Small Guitar (What Books Press, 2013) and Beg No Pardon (Perugia Press, 2007). She received an Artist Fellowship from the City of Los Angeles in 2015.

*The Altadena Library at Loma Alta Park is located in the park’s Social Hall, a unit of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation.
