Pasadena Police Chief John Perez was the Emcee and the Rose Bowl was the location for the kick-off.
The Pink Patch Project is a campaign to increase breast cancer awareness, stimulate conversation and raise funds for breast cancer education, research and treatment. The LACPCA and over 390 public safety agencies throughout the United States are participating. Employees of those agencies will wear vibrant pink versions of each agency’s uniform patch during “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” in October.
Participating agencies also will be selling their commemorative pink patches, as well as T-shirts, challenge coins and other items. Proceeds will be donated to cancer research organizations nationwide, including City of Hope (the founding beneficiary). Over $1 million was donated in 2018.
