In honor of the Norton Simon Museum’s 50th anniversary, enjoy a series of films presented on select Friday evenings from May to July.

These films are presented as part of the Board of Trustees Film Series. In 1971 Norton Simon married Academy Award–winning actress Jennifer Jones. When the Norton Simon Museum opened a few years later, some familiar names in Hollywood were appointed to its board of trustees.
Free with museum admission. No reservations needed. All screenings begin at 4:30 pm at the Norton Simon Museum’s theater. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the screening.

An office worker (Jack Lemmon) loans his tiny New York City flat to his superiors for their secret romantic trysts and is subsequently promoted for maintaining silence about their affairs. A young Puerto Rican is on trial for his father’s murder, and 11 of the 12 jurors have voted him guilty. The sole opposing vote comes from Juror No. 8 (Henry Fonda), who persuades the others to reconsider, showing the motivations of each juror. - June 20: The Lady Eve (1941), PG
Aboard a cruise liner, a card shark (Barbara Stanwyck) sets her sights on a nerdy snake researcher (Henry Fonda), who happens to be the heir to a brewery fortune. But when the con artist falls for her mark, her grift becomes a game of hearts—and she is determined to win it all. - July 11: His Girl Friday (1940), NR

In this comedic thriller, a trio of crooks relentlessly pursue a young American (Audrey Hepburn) through Paris in an attempt to recover the fortune her dead husband stole from them. The only person she can trust is a suave, mysterious stranger (Cary Grant).
