On March 11, the Lamanda Park Branch Library launches the first film in its Wednesday-at-1:00 pm screening series, running throughout the month.

      By Melanie Hooks

Each selection connects to the One City, One Story Pasadena program and explores themes from the AI‑driven sci‑fi novel The Dream Hotel by Laila Lamali.

This week’s feature is Frequency (2000), rated PG‑13.

Synopsis: What if you could travel back in time and change one pivotal moment in your life? For John Sullivan, the answer is clear: he would prevent the October 12, 1969 Bruxton fire that claimed the life of his father, a heroic firefighter. When an unexpected opportunity arises, John may finally get his wish, along with consequences he never anticipated.

      Upcoming Films

      – March 18 – Déjà Vu (2006), PG‑13

A top‑secret government team recruits ATF agent Doug Carlin to help capture the terrorist behind a devastating ferry bombing. Doug soon realizes the technology might allow him to do what law enforcement officers only dream of: prevent the crime before it happens.

      – March 25 – Source Code (2011), PG‑13

Helicopter pilot Colter Stevens becomes part of a classified military program that allows him to experience the final minutes of Sean Fentress, a commuter who died in a train explosion.
