A surge of monsoonal moisture could bring showers and thunderstorms to Southern California this weekend, with the highest chances expected across the Ventura and Los Angeles County mountains, as well as the Antelope Valley. However, isolated activity cannot be ruled out across broader portions of the region.

Residents are advised to stay alert for changing weather conditions, particularly in mountain and desert areas where storms may develop rapidly.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has also extended an Extreme Heat Warning and Heat Advisory for multiple areas in Los Angeles County through Sunday, August 24.
The warnings highlight the increased risk of heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and heat cramps.

The Extreme Heat Warning is issued when dangerously hot weather is occurring or imminent, posing a high risk of serious health impacts for all individuals, not just vulnerable populations.
