Los Angeles County officials confirmed that the evacuation orders and Red Flag Parking Restrictions for the city have been lifted, signaling the end of the immediate threat posed by recent wildfires and associated dangers. However, authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant, as the region may still experience future storm activity.
The Los Angeles County Public Works Department has issued a “NO PHASE” forecast for recent burn areas. Nevertheless, local officials are advising continued preparedness, as future weather systems could increase the risk of flooding and debris flow—particularly in canyon areas, flood-prone zones, and regions affected by recent fires.
Residents in these vulnerable areas are encouraged to take the following precautions to ensure their safety:
- Register for emergency alerts via Nixle and Genasys to receive real-time updates.
- Review and familiarize themselves with household evacuation routes.
- Assemble an emergency kit containing essential items such as food, water, medications, flashlights, batteries, and important documents.
- Keep vehicles at least half full of fuel in case of evacuation.
- Use sandbags or barriers around properties that may be vulnerable to flooding or debris flow.
Although evacuation orders have been lifted, officials emphasize that the potential for future storms and their impact on burn areas should not be underestimated. Residents are advised to remain prepared and follow all safety recommendations to protect themselves and their families.
