The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Freddy Solario Jr. of Pasadena, was taken into custody early this morning after officers served a search warrant at his residence on July 30. Solario, who has a prior criminal history, is accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of equipment and power tools from the youth baseball facility located in the 1100 block of Marengo Avenue.
Thanks to efforts by detectives and patrol officers, as well as cooperation from the community, some of the stolen items have already been recovered.
“This crime impacted summer activities and the well-being of so many youth who rely on this equipment to play,” said Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris. “We’re grateful to the community for their help in bringing this case to a close.”
Formal charges are currently under review by the Pasadena District Attorney’s Office.
