Officers with the Alhambra Police Department arrested a Bakersfield man after a vehicle stop near the intersection of Fremont and Montezuma avenues led to the discovery of marijuana, cash and drug-related items.

      By News Desk

According to police, officers responded to a call in the area and contacted a vehicle driven by Tomas Solis. Officers reported seeing a nitrous oxide tank and several balloons in the vehicle’s front cup holder and on the passenger seat. When asked whether there was anything officers should know about, Solis appeared extremely nervous.

During a search of the vehicle, officers said they detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from inside. The search led to the discovery of a functioning digital scale, approximately $9,880 in cash, several large bags containing about five pounds of marijuana, a jar of cannabis wax and other items commonly associated with drug sales and use.

Solis, a resident of Bakersfield, was taken into custody and booked into jail. Authorities have not yet released additional information about the charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
