Colorado Street Bridge is turning 100!
On December 7, the 100th anniversary of the Colorado Street Bridge will be celebrated with an installation of a new bronze plaque commemorating this milestone in the famous bridge’s history.
The American Society of Civil Engineers will be honoring the bridge as a California Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
The Pasadena Museum of History is hosting a special exhibit about the bridge which opened November 20th and will run through April 2014. Admission will be free on Saturday and a celebratory reception at the Pasadena Museum of History will take place from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Also, a beautiful book on the seismic upgrade and rehabilitation of the bridge completed in 1993 (created by photographer Tavo Olmos who documented the project twenty years ago) will be available for sale.
Everyone is invited to attend the re-dedication celebration on December 7.
