The City of Pasadena Economic Development Division, in partnership with local favorites The Nextdoors (Pasadena Band), announced the fourth annual Pasadena Neighbor Day, a community-driven celebration of local unity and neighborhood spirit. Scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wild Parrot Brewing Company (2302 E. Colorado Blvd), this event invites Pasadena residents and businesses to embrace the joy of getting to know their neighbors.

      By News Desk

Pasadena Neighbor Day encourages residents and businesses to come together in their own unique ways, from hosting events and sales to simply inviting neighbors over for coffee. The focus is on building stronger connections within the community. The main festivities will take place in the Lamanda Park neighborhood, featuring four live music performances by local acts from Pasadena and surrounding areas.

“Pasadena Neighbor Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our community, strengthen connections, and support local businesses,” said District 4 Councilmember Gene Masuda. “It’s a day to come together, have fun, and remember the power of being good neighbors.”

      Building Stronger Bonds

Pasadena’s Economic Development Director, David Klug, highlighted the importance of revitalizing local commercial districts. “We are always looking for ways to bring more vitality to our neighborhood commercial areas, and Lamanda Park is the perfect spot for the day’s main event,” Klug said. “We’re excited to support Pasadena Neighbor Day, which bridges the gap between business and community.”

This year, the event holds special significance in the wake of the devastating Eaton Fire. Russell Mark, co-founder of The Nextdoors, reflected on the importance of community bonds during times of crisis. “The main event at Wild Parrot has become a cornerstone of Pasadena Neighbor Day,” Mark shared. “In 2025, the day will also serve as a de facto Eaton Fire Day of healing and support. Several bands who lost their homes in the fire will still perform, showing how vital it is to feel normal and supported during tough times.”

      A Commitment to Community

Wild Parrot Brewing Company co-owner John Jackson echoed this sentiment, saying, “Our mission isn’t just about running a successful business—it’s about bringing the community together. Pasadena Neighbor Day fits perfectly with our efforts to foster stronger local bonds, from our running club to trivia nights and beyond. In 2025, this is more important than ever.”

As part of its commitment to community support, Wild Parrot Brewing will donate to causes close to its heart, including the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) and Pasadena Fire Foundation. Additionally, The Nextdoors will donate a portion of merchandise sales and raffle ticket proceeds to the Lightbringer Project, which organizes local events like the Doo Dah Parade and LitFest. Last year’s event raised over $1,700 for PEF and the Pasadena Symphony’s fire relief efforts.

Nextdoors co-founder Mika Larson explained, “These organizations were greatly impacted by the Eaton Fire, but they showed resilience and played an essential role in providing assistance and positivity during a difficult time. They deserve our support, and we’re excited to offer whatever we can.”

      Live Performances and Community Fun

The Pasadena Neighbor Day celebration will feature live performances from The Nextdoors, Licata Brothers, Nina Lares, and Jason Heath and the Greedy Souls, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day.
