A newly formed vocal ensemble on the Southern California music scene will present an evening of Nordic folk traditions this weekend.

Keiju Kollektiv, a professional vocal group dedicated exclusively to Nordic folk music, will perform a concert titled “Tales of the North” on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 7:30 pm at Pasadena Presbyterian Church.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public, with a voluntary offering collected during the program. A reception will follow the performance.
Keiju Kollektiv focuses on music from the Nordic nations, repertoire known for its distinctive beauty and themes celebrating peace, nature, and humanity. The ensemble’s program will feature traditional songs and arrangements drawn from Icelandic, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian folk traditions.
The evening’s repertoire includes:

- Gropen (Gjermund Larsen)

- Gånglåt från Äppelbo (arr. Robert Sund)
- Ievan Polkka (Loituma & Benjamin Tayehanpour)
- Norwegian Lullaby (Gjendine Slålien, arr. Gunnar Eriksson)
- Nordic Polska (Anders Edenroth & Matti Kallio)
The concert will feature members of Keiju Kollektiv along with vocal artists Rebecca Tomasko, Selma Seppänen, Tany Ling, Marja Liisa Kay, Lola Gayle, Julian Karahalios, Mikael Sandgren, Braden Pontoli, Gregory Good, and Ian Schipper.
Organizers say the program aims to introduce audiences to the rich storytelling and musical heritage of Nordic folk traditions through a modern vocal ensemble approach. The performance concludes with a public reception where attendees can meet the artists.
