We live in an area where locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables are available every day of the week at one of our local Farmers’ Markets!

      By Jerry Friedman

Unless you live on a farm or grow your own food, Farmer’s Markets are your best access to the freshest produce. Countless studies have shown the benefit of fresh and varied fruits and vegetables in your diet. With so many outdoor markets nearby it’s easier than ever to grab the produce you need! Many accept EDB and often they‘ll match the 1st $10.00 so you could get an additional 10 dollars of fresh food with EDB purchases.

Each market has a unique flavor

Each market has a unique flavor, selection of goods, and services; so, don’t be content with the one that’s just up the street. A short drive might land you in your own personal Farmers Market Nirvana! Take the family or go alone, stay a minute or take the whole afternoon. Most of them offer prepared food so you can enjoy lunch or dinner. A great place to take a date, walk around, find gift ideas, or just enjoy time outside with people. Many have live music for entertainment as you eat and shop. The vendors are passionate entrepreneurs and they are knowledgeable about what they produce, so you might learn a little more about the crafts, fruits and other items they provide.

So get out there, support local, eat local healthy and seasonal, be green, and have fun!
