Councilman Victor Gordo has filed paperwork to run for mayor in the upcoming 2020 election.
Gordo filed his candidate intention statement on Thursday, October 3 at 12:35 pm.
On his official website, Gordo listed the reason that led him to run:
Standing up and being a warrior for the people of Pasadena – including the hard working families – has been the driving force in my career.
The domain name, victorgordoformayor.com, was registered eight days ago, on September 25, 2019. Gordo’s announcement comes few days after former Councilwoman Jacque Robinson announced her run for mayor. So far there are three candidates running for mayor of Pasadena, Major Williams, Jacque Robinson, and Victor Gordo, in addition to the incumbent, Terry Tornek who announced back in April that he’s seeking re-election.
Victor M. Gordo began serving in the city of Pasadena back in 1997 as then–Vice Mayor Bill Crowfoot‘s field representative for District 5. In March 2001, Gordo was elected to Pasadena City Council and has represented District 5 ever since.
