Twenty student runners from Blair crossed the marathon’s finish line, marking the culmination of a long season of preparation and perseverance. The students trained consistently in the lead-up to the race, representing their school, the Pasadena Unified School District, and the San Gabriel Valley with pride and sportsmanship.
Five of the runners earned special recognition as “LA Loyals,” a distinction awarded to participants who complete the Los Angeles Marathon five consecutive years.
The Blair team was coached by Veronica Yepez, Eric Glenn, and Liliana Tang, who guided the students through months of training and preparation for the race.
In recognition of the team’s accomplishment, Victor Gordo, mayor of Pasadena, presented the students with an award during the Pasadena City Council meeting on Monday, March 9. The honor celebrated the runners’ dedication, perseverance, and positive representation of their school and community.
The achievement also reflects the strong support system behind the runners. Congratulations were extended not only to the students and coaches, but also to the parents and family members whose encouragement and support helped make the accomplishment possible.
