Officers from the Alhambra Police Department responded to a dramatic rollover collision near the intersection of Hellman Avenue and Campbell Avenue, where an SUV was found on its side against a city light pole.

The crash occurred when the driver, identified as Ronald Darden of Los Angeles, was traveling eastbound on Hellman Avenue. According to authorities, Darden’s vehicle struck a parked car, a water meter, and a city light pole before overturning.
Upon arrival, officers observed multiple signs of impairment and arrested Darden at the scene for driving under the influence (DUI). No other individuals were injured in the incident.
Police emphasized the serious danger DUI incidents pose to the community and reminded the public that not all such crashes end without injury or loss of life. Officials urged drivers to make responsible decisions behind the wheel.
