On Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2:11 am, a South Pasadena police officer conducted a license plate check on a 2008 Honda Civic in the vicinity of Huntington Drive and Fair Oaks Avenue. The check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Bell Gardens the previous day.

A traffic stop ensued, leading to the detainment of all four occupants in the vehicle. Further investigation led to the discovery of gloves, a ski mask, and a replica Sig Sauer BB gun. The driver, 18-year-old Carlos Guerra and a 17-year-old juvenile, both residents of Los Angeles, were taken into custody.
Guerra and the juvenile were processed at the Alhambra City Jail and subsequently released on citations following their booking. The Department of Children and Family Services responded and assisted in escorting the juvenile home.
