In response to recent reports of federal immigration enforcement activity in neighboring areas, city officials have clarified the current situation within Sierra Madre. At this time, there is no known federal immigration enforcement activity occurring within the city limits.

The Sierra Madre Police Department reaffirmed its commitment to local public safety and compliance with California law, specifically Senate Bill 54 (SB 54), which prohibits the use of city resources for immigration enforcement purposes.
“We are committed to serving our community with professionalism and care,” the city stated.
City officials encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns to local authorities and emphasize that Sierra Madre remains a welcoming community dedicated to upholding both the law and the rights of its citizens.
