The City of San Gabriel Fire Department ensured that Santa Claus was on hand for the 47th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony!

      By Jerry Friedman

Festivities kicked off on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 6:15 pm in the Plaza Park, located at 428 S. Mission Drive in San Gabriel. Food tents, refreshments, live entertainment, ornament decorating and a Tree Lighting ceremony at 7:00 pm were followed by a visit from Santa. It was a truly jam-packed evening of family fun!

Entertainment was provided by Dewey Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School Orchestra and Concert Band, and Arcadia High School Choir. The Community Services Dance Classes showcased their performers. Musical performances by the Dewey Woodcraft Rangers, Gabrielino High School Choir, San Gabriel High School Marching Band, and Community Services’ dance class students brought the holiday spirit.

This year there were mini train rides, and a Taste of San Gabriel where attendees enjoyed delicious free bite sized food samples from various San Gabriel eateries.
