THE HERB DIVA
Today let me tell you about another favorite herb of mine: Sage.
By Constanze Bonelli
Sage is familiar to us here in SoCal as a wild growing herb. Those of us who enjoy hiking have come across it on many trails. Just like mint, sage has a strong scent which comes from its volatile oils.
In Italy, specifically in Tuscany, imagine yourself in a little streetside cafe being served fried sage leaves as an appetizer. You must try this.
Take a few fresh sage leaves and fry in hot olive oil for about 4 seconds. Place on a small plate, lined with a paper towel to absorb the excess oil. Delicious!
So, to impress your guests at your next dinner party why not serve them this delicious treat? I hope you’ll give it a try.
Until next time.
To your health!
