Michele L. Harvey
the unbroken sweep
of new snow…
my mind made up
to love what is
and not what isn’t
Michele L. Harvey, a professional landscape painter, lives half the year in rural central NY and the other half in New York City, providing a lively contrast. Michele has determined to experience the sunlight and shadow of life, where her art is the residue of time’s passing.

Barbara Kaufmann

Photo and haiga poem by Barbara-Kaufmann. (In ancient Japan, haiga combined brushwork with poems. Modern haiga can combine digital images with lyrical poetry, creating new art and meaning).
Barbara Kaufmann, retired from nursing in 2012, has been creating Japanese short form poetry. She draws inspiration from the beaches, woods and gardens near her home in New York. This year, with lots of time for writing, walking and running after grandchildren, Barbara has resolved to spend most of her time ‘sipping’ the present moment! Her haiga combines her image and poem.
