Many gatherings, formal and informal, hold special shared memories for those present, Sometimes poets gather this way and here are some special examples of what can happen:
Michael Czarnecki
Daily Spontaneous Poem #518
4/1not even what they said
but just seeing him
standing next to him
speaking briefly to him
this poet whose poems
meant so much to her
brought tears to her eyesDaily Spontaneous Poem #519
4/2conference over
now in another place
gentle sadness
left behind
sweet connections
that hopefully
someday
may reconnectDaily Spontaneous Poem #520

fogged-in Pacific
far below hillside path
out of sight
peacocks call constantly

Note from Kathabela: I met Michael while I was performing with him at off-site readings for the large AWP Convention held in Los Angeles March 30 – April 2, 2016. He writes and numbers a “spontaneous poem” on Facebook each day, and also posts a daily photo. I was so impressed with his ongoing poetic journey.
