Ruth Yarrow
breeze
through aspen leaves
finch warblecountry music —
woodcock spirals up toward stars
down to earthy beep
Ruth Yarrow is an environmental activist and haiku poet. She says” I have been listening to birds and enjoying imitating them since my uncle taught me the tufted titmouse whistle in the mid 1940’s. I live in Ithaca, NY.” She performs her haiku concerning birds, interspersed with her expert bird calls..

Alan Summers, a renowned and inspiring poet and teacher of poetry, “lives in a house of sparrows, and possibly house martins, and the whole street sings from dawn to dusk”. His home is in a town called Chippenham, Wiltshire, UK.
