Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is now accepting submissions for the new 2026 Utility Trade Scholarship, its annual Educational Scholarship for high school seniors, and the “Being Water Wise Is …” Student Art Contest.

As a community-owned utility, PWP supports local youth through educational programs designed to encourage environmental stewardship, resource mindfulness, and community investment through creative exploration.
PWP continues its commitment to serving the community and developing the future of the utility industry through annual scholarships. In 2026, the program expands to include an all-new utility trade scholarship for students planning to study, or currently studying, a utility trade at a technical or vocational school or a community college. One Pasadena resident will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend a vocational or technical school or community college in Southern California for the 2026–2027 academic year.
In addition to the new trade scholarship, PWP is accepting applications for its annual educational scholarship for Pasadena high school seniors, including students enrolled in Pasadena Unified. Each year, two students are selected to receive scholarships to attend a two- or four-year accredited post-secondary institution. The first-place scholarship is $5,000, and second place receives $2,500.
Applicants for either scholarship must submit a three- to five-minute video responding to one of the scholarship prompts. All submissions must be received by March 27, 2026.
PWP is also inviting K–12 students living within its service territory, including Pasadena Unified students, to participate in the 2026 “Being Water Wise Is …” Student Art Contest, sponsored by PWP and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Students are asked to submit artwork that reflects a water-wise theme along with a short message about water conservation and stewardship. Accepted art media include digital art, crayons, markers, pencils, paints, watercolors, chalk, and cut paper or fabric. Artwork submissions must be received by email and mail by April 30, 2026.
