Chair Allison Henry, the Tenant Representative from District 3, will serve through May 2029. She has a background in housing policy and advocacy. Henry contributed to drafting the Pasadena Fair and Equitable Housing Charter Article (Article XVIII), including the sections that created the Rental Board and Rental Registry. She has also been involved in regional tenant organizing and served on Pasadena’s 2021 Housing Element Task Force.
Vice Chair Lourdes Gonzalez, an At-Large Member and founding Board member, will serve through May 2027. Gonzalez is a District 3 resident and a local housing provider. She previously worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, managing over 40 interim housing sites during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her experience includes landlord-tenant issues and emergency housing response.
The PRHB and the City’s Rent Stabilization Department acknowledged outgoing Chair Ryan Bell and Vice Chair Brandon Lamar for their work during a period that included implementation of the Rent Stabilization Ordinance, launch of the Rental Registry, development of petition procedures, and adoption of a tenant protection ordinance following the Eaton Fire.
“This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for the PRHB,” said Helen Morales, Director of the Pasadena Rent Stabilization Department. “We look forward to working with Chair Henry and Vice Chair Gonzalez to advance the mission of the Board, strengthen renter protections, and continue supporting the rental housing community in Pasadena.”
The Board’s current priorities include achieving full compliance with the City’s Rental Registry, improving petition procedures, increasing community outreach, and strengthening local housing emergency response.
