      By Ari Gutierrez Arambula

With the historic appointment of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, there is so much to celebrate for Black History Month! Celebrating the 103rd Anniversary of the U.S. League of Women Voters, the Pasadena League of Women Voters will host a community luncheon featuring guest speaker, Mira Hashmall.

Ms. Hashmall is a trial lawyer who has been named on numerous lists of Top 100 Lawyers. She is a board member of the Constitutional Rights Foundation, which promotes diversity in the legal profession, and is active in mentoring women and black lawyers.  She is a former board member of the Los Angeles League of Women Voters.

The celebration luncheon will be held February 4, 2023, at Mijares Restaurant, 145 Palmetto Drive, Pasadena. Tickets for the buffet lunch are available at $50 or $25, additional donations accepted.  The networking event will be an interesting and festive celebration! Reserve tickets here.

The League of Women Voters is an organization encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government. They neither support  nor oppose candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always work on vital issues of concern to members and the public.
