      Here’s a comprehensive list of the celebrations and closures in Pasadena for Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

      All parking meters will be free, and parking time limits will not be enforced (only) on Jan. 18.

      – All other parking regulations, including red curb violations and blocking fire hydrants, will be enforced on that day.

      – Parking meter enforcement will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

      Other specific holiday closures and exceptions

      • The City Council will not meet on Monday, Jan. 18.  The Council’s regularly scheduled meetings for January include Jan. 11 and Jan. 25.
      • Pasadena Fire and Police Departments will be staffed for all patrol, jail, fire, paramedic and other emergency services. For life-threatening emergencies, always remember to call 9-1-1.
      • For non-emergencies, remember, “If You See Something, Say Something” by calling police at (626) 744-4241.
      • Pasadena’s Water and Power (PWP) Department for power emergencies number: (626) 744-4673. For water-related emergencies call (626) 744-4138.
      • Citizens Service Center will be closed Jan. 18 for the holiday but will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23.
      • Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day during the week of Jan. 18-23.  The bulky item pickup program is on hiatus and will resume Monday, Feb. 1.
      • Pasadena Public Library branches will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, with regular schedules resuming Tuesday, Jan. 19.
      • Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride buses will operate on their regular weekday schedules.
      • All community centers operated by the City’s Human Services and Recreation Department will be closed. All community centers operated by the City’s Human Services and Recreation Department will be closed.
      • All parks will be open for picnics, fun and play, but no site reservations are accepted for the holidays.
