As Southern Californians prepare for Labor Day Weekend, forecasters are warning of scorching inland temperatures and hazardous beach conditions.

While many will head to the coast to escape the heat, beachgoers should remain cautious. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect through Monday night, as a long-period southerly swell is generating elevated surf and dangerous rip currents. Swimmers and surfers are urged to exercise caution and follow lifeguard guidance.
An Inland Heat Advisory (in effect from September 1 at 10:00 a.m. until September 2 at 6:00 p.m.) has been issued for the area. Temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 90s and low 100s, with hot days and warm nights continuing into next week. Officials urge residents to stay cool, limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, and stay hydrated.

- Sunday: Sunny and hot, high near 99°F. Light afternoon breeze.
- Labor Day (Monday): Sunny and even hotter, high near 102°F.
- Tuesday: A slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. High near 103°F.
- Wednesday to Saturday: Continued hot and sunny conditions, with highs ranging from the low 90s to upper 90s. Patchy fog may develop near the coast later in the week.
