Alhambra Commissioner Je-Show Yang officially announced his candidacy for Alhambra City Council.

Yang currently serves as a Commissioner on Alhambra’s Environmental Sustainability Commission, a Delegate to the California Democratic Party, an Advisory Council Member to the South Coast Air Quality Management District, and he works as a Program Manager for the non-profit Asian Pacific Islander Forward Movement.
“As a long-time resident of Alhambra, I am running for City Council because I believe in our city’s potential. Together, we can build an Alhambra that reflects our values of inclusivity, prosperity, and safety,” said Commissioner Je-Show Yang.
Yang is running for Alhambra’s 4th City Council District. This seat is currently held by Vice Mayor Sasha Renée Pérez. Pérez is not seeking re-election to the City Council, as she is a candidate for State Senate in CA’s 22nd District. The councilman for Alhambra’s 4th City Council District will also be determined in the November 2024 election.
Je-Show Yang
Yang immigrated to the United States from Taiwan at the age of 8, along with his mother and younger brother. Yang graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida, earning a B.A. in Political Science and Economics, with a minor in Chinese. He was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs in Southern California and served on the Board of Asian Democrats of Los Angeles County.
Currently a Program Manager at the Asian Pacific Islander Forward Movement (APIFM), Yang works on policies improving air quality and public health in the San Gabriel Valley. Yang hasfacilitated collaborations between residents, elected officials, and key stakeholders to develop and implement environmental policies and projects.
On the Alhambra Environmental Sustainability Commission, Yang promotes sustainable practices and green initiatives with a focus on urban planning and environmental integrity. His current projects focus on increasing green spaces and tree shade in local schools.
Four candidates: Noya Yang, Katie Chan, Nicolas Kiet Quach and Je-Show Yang are running for the Dist. 4 seat. The domain name yangforalhambra.com was registered on April 19, 2024. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
