The National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued an Extreme Heat Warning in effect through 8:00 pm Friday, March 20, as dangerously high temperatures grip much of southwest California.
By News Desk
Forecasters warn that temperatures ranging from 96 to 104 degrees are expected across most valley, lower mountain, and inland coastal areas. The prolonged heat wave is anticipated to persist through the remainder of the week, with little day-to-day relief—particularly in regions away from the coast.
Officials caution that these extreme conditions pose a high risk of heat-related illness, especially for vulnerable populations, including young children, older adults, individuals without access to air conditioning, and those engaging in outdoor activities. Compounding the danger, overnight temperatures will remain unusually warm, limiting the body’s ability to recover from daytime heat, especially in foothill and mountain communities.

- Wednesday Night: Clear, low around 66°F.
