Alhambra Library Board President Nicolas Kiet Quach has announced his candidacy for Alhambra’s City Council.

A product of Ramona & Fremont Elementary and Alhambra High School, Nicolas is a lifelong resident and previous City Commission Chair.
Nicolas began his professional career working for Alhambra’s Vice Mayor Sasha Renée Pérez during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In announcing his plans for the future of the City, Nicolas said, “Considering the looming deficit in the State Budget, Alhambra needs a leader who has served this community and is capable of balancing tough budgets by incorporating community feedback into responsible fiscal decisions. As President of Alhambra’s Board of Library Trustees, I’ve worked with my colleagues, Alhambra families, and Library staff to ensure we’ve continued to provide essential services to residents. I’ve built coalitions my entire career and on the City Council, I’ll work towards a safer, sustainable community by expanding city services, connecting with our neighbors, and supporting local businesses.” His proposals include building more affordable housing units, increasing access to public transportation and public parks, and tackling public safety concerns felt by neighbors across the city.

Nicolas Kiet Quach lives in the Midwick Tract on Stranahan Drive. In the fall, Quach will be attending the University of Southern California pursuing a degree at Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences.
Nicolas was honored by Representative Judy Chu at her 2023 Congressional Leadership Awards as the Youth Leader of the Year for the 28th Congressional District. He has been recognized by Assemblymember Mike Fong and the Alhambra City Council for his community work. Outside of community service, Nick enjoys local taco joints, hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, or walking his dog Chewy.
Four candidates: Noya Yang, Katie Chan, Nicolas Kiet Quach and Je-Show Yang are running for the Dist. 4 seat. The domain name nicolaskietquach.com was registered on April 3, 2024. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
