It’s beginning to sound like Christmas…in Pasadena!

      By Mike Pashistoran

The historic Pasadena Presbyterian Church (PPC) welcomed the Holiday season on Sunday, December 8, with its 75th annual Candlelight & Carols concerts. The two performances included several choirs (Kirk, Trinity, Pasadena Singers, Rainbow and Carol), the Van Etten Handbell Choir and the Friends of Music Orchesra. The audience also participated in the singing of secular and sacred Christmas music.

PPC has a strong musical ministry, sourced from its English, Spanish and Korean ministries. The various musicians were conducted by PPC Director of Music Dr. Timothy Howard, as well as Kayla Kim, F. Thomas Simpson, Vena Luthey and Nora de la Torre.

In addition to the music, Head Pastor Ann Oglesby-Edwards and Executive Pastor Steve Wiebe delivered Christmas messages.

The Candlelight & Carols concerts are a family holiday tradition that bring the warmth of the spirit of Christmas into the San Gabriel Valley.
