At Pasadena City Hall on Saturday, June 21, approximately 400 people gathered on the plaza to visit booths supporting a range of causes unified under the rainbow banner of “Pride.”

Victor Gordo, Mayor of Pasadena, spoke in favor of welcoming all diverse groups into the city, as long as they remain peaceful. He emphasized that “one man” would not be allowed to divide the community.
The festivities included a drag show featuring drag queens, and even a drag king, performing to lip-synced music on a runway, with a DJ spinning their chosen songs. Some attendees wore elaborate costumes, while others, like me, simply wandered through, learning more about how people live and get along. No one tried to persuade me of anything. It was a peaceful and inclusive gathering.
