The City of Pasadena has announced a City Council workshop to review the Draft Reconnecting Pasadena 710 Vision Plan, scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

      By News Desk

The meeting will feature a screening of an excerpt from the documentary Amplify | Voices of People and Families Displaced by Freeway Construction in Pasadena, California, along with recognition of two prestigious awards earned by the film. The documentary highlights the experiences of families and communities—primarily communities of color—affected by freeway construction in the 710 Stub area.

The Reconnecting Pasadena 710 Vision Plan represents a culmination of three years of work led by Perkins Eastman, the City Council-appointed Reconnecting Communities 710 Advisory Group, city staff, and local stakeholders. The plan outlines a comprehensive, community-driven strategy for reconnecting neighborhoods and reimagining the future of the 710 Stub corridor.

Key components of the Vision Plan include the city’s first Restorative Justice Framework, which documents the displacement of residents and seeks to address past harms. The plan also provides recommendations for integrating the 710 Stub into surrounding neighborhoods and establishes long-term strategies related to land use, mobility, sustainability, and implementation.

“Pasadena is defined by its public spaces, its beautiful neighborhoods, thriving business districts, and historic assets like City Hall, the Rose Bowl, Ambassador Auditorium, and Caltech—all contributing to our sense of place,” said Mayor Victor Gordo. “With the Vision Plan, we can learn from and reflect on the best aspects of what surrounds it.”

A second City Council workshop is scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers. That session will continue the discussion and include recommendations from city staff regarding the Vision Plan.

Residents can view the full documentary online and access additional information about the Reconnecting Pasadena project through the city’s official resources. For questions or comments, the public is encouraged to contact Senior Project Manager Wendy Macias at WMacias@CityOfPasadena.net.
