The first Thursday of the month is a Free Day at the Huntington, but there’s a caveat!
By Marc Corti
In order to secure a ticket, you need to be quick. First, you need to register for a free ticket, but due to the popularity of the free day, tickets usually go fast, within minutes of release.
In order to secure a ticket, you need to click on this link (or go directly to Brown Paper Tickets and search for ‘Free Day at Huntington’) at 9:00 a.m. the month before you wish to visit. (For example, if you wish to visit on April’s Free Day, you want to reserve tickets on March 1st). The tickets are limited in quantity and can be reserved for a morning entry (10 a.m. – noon) or an afternoon entry (1 p.m. – 4 p.m).
Tickets are Print-at-Home or Mobile Delivery. Bring your Print-at-Home tickets with you on Free Day for admission or show on your Mobile device, as all non-member visitors to The Huntington on “Free Day” must have a ticket.
The Free Day tickets are not available at The Huntington, and you may not purchase regular admission tickets on Free Day.

Ticket are reserved in 2-3 minutes. You need to be ready sharp @9:00 am to get free ticket. Make sure you already created account in advance and logged in Brown Paper Tickets before you launch to the Free Ticket button.

Good luck.
Thank you for the heads up I would have never known.
Dear sir,
Today Nov. 1, I went to your web site for free ticket.
Go to “Reserve tickets for the morning entry (10 a.m. – noon)”
, then use the Cursor open it before 9.00 Am, then wait。
At “Registration Option:” at exactly 9.00 am, I put my Cursor on [Not Available],, but no action. That is I can not open [Not Availabe]。
Why? Can you help my? I hope next time I can have a chance to try to reserve a free ticket!

tickets were all taken in under a minute -_-..
They usually do. Need to keep monitoring the ticket site in the morning of the particular day in order to grab one.
