Help the Coffee Gallery Get New Refrigerators

      Coffee Gallery (Phot - Facebook).

The folks at the cool Coffee Gallery in Altadena are asking for help in upgrading their 18 year old refrigerators. The owner, Julie Sandoval, tells it in her own words:

My name is Julie Sandoval and I am the owner of The Coffee Gallery in Altadena, California. I started working at The CG as a Barista over 12 years ago. I fell in love with the place and the people who frequent it. So when the opportunity to purchase it became available, I did just that.

It’s hard to believe that was over seven years ago ,but I guess time flies when you are overwhelmed. I thought being a Mom of four , a PTA President  and a stand-up comedian would make this Coffee Gallery owner thingy a breeze. Well I was wrong ,and Thank God I have family and friends to help me laugh at the mistakes and mishaps.

Coolest place that needs cooling refrigerators

My latest installment of irony is that, while it’s true The Coffee Gallery is the coolest place in Altadena, unfortunately  all of it’s refrigeration needs replacing. We need to purchase:

      • Double door under the counter refrigerator ($2,500)
      • Eight gallon display ice cream dipping cabinet ($3,500)
      • Upright double door refrigerator ($3,000)

      December 1

The Coffee Gallery opened it’s doors in 1997 with the refrigerators we were using up until last month.  They worked tirelessly seven days a week for 18 years.  Then on December 1, 2014 our refrigeration repairman said they were unrepairable and told us to buy new units. That’s a lot easier said than done.

I wish I had that kind of funds sitting around, and believe me when I became the owner of The CG, I thought I was going to be rich. But I soon found out being the owner of The CG is a labor of love. And, I am rich in love, family, relationships, friendships, happiness, gratitude, people, experiences, art and music, but they won’t let me use any of those at  Restaurant Depot to pay for the equipment.

Coffee Gallery GoFundMe (Photo -YouTube).Will you help?

I need help to keep The Coffee Gallery brewing for today and many more years to come.  Whatever amount you can spare to help us out will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small and every little bit will help us meet the goal. If you wouldn’t mind please share our GoFundMe with all your friends. And honestly,  how often do you see a guy in pasties get a bucket of chocolate poured over him? (Check out the video).

Thank you for your support. Without you The Coffee Gallery would just be another four walls.

      Here’s the GoFundMe link.

The Coffee Gallery has provided top notch, eclectic entertainment for many years, at admission prices that obviously do not cover it’s costs or make anyone rich. There’s a lot of joy and love of music in that venue, it’s vital to the neighborhood, and the folks that bring it to our community are dedicated to keeping this icon a valuable part of the community. Let’s all do what we can to support this amazing and important local music venue and gathering place. In my opinion we’ve all gotten more than our money’s worth whenever we’ve spent money there, let’s show our appreciation for this gem.
