Hosted by Sehba Sarwar and Lester Graves Lennon, Altadena Poets Laureate hosts a gathering of poetry, reflection, and renewal one year since the Altadena fires on Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
“From Ashes to Renewal: Voices of Resilience in Altadena” in the Main Library Community Room of Altadena Library, 600 E. Mariposa St., Pasadena, aims to honor the land, the people, and the spirit of rebuilding that continues to shape the community.
Featured poets include Sesshu Foster, Robin D. G. Kelley, Elline Lipkin, Roberta Martinez, Ruth Nolan, Andrew Wessels, Désirée Zamorano, emerging poets Emilia Cabrales and Keily Sahagun, and an open mic session.
This event will be livestreamed at youtube.com/AltadenaLibrary.
