The Rotary Club of Altadena in partnership with Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation’s Parks After Dark is announcing the lineup for the 28th season of free summer concerts.
This year, the concerts will be on the lawn of lower Loma Alta Park. All concerts are on Saturday evenings and start at 7:00 pm.
Concert Lineup
- July 5: Kenny Metcalf as Elton John – The Early Years
Kenny Metcalf recreates the multiple Grammy-winning legend and flamboyant superstar Elton John in every performance. Dazzling outfits, stunning vocals, and a spectacular backing band complete this phenomenal reproduction that brings the audience on an adventure of both sight and sound. - July 12: The Walking Phoenixes – Music of Johnny Cash
When the Walking Phoenixes take the stage in their signature “all black” three-piece suits, you know immediately that they have what it takes to be a tribute to the “Man In Black.” It is more than just a band or a likeness of Johnny Cash–it’s an experience not to be missed. - July 19: Sgt. Pepper – Beatles Tribute
Sgt. Pepper, Beatles tribute band, returns to the summer concert series. The band has been performing Beatles music since 2007 throughout California. All four members are well-known L.A. based musicians and singers who have performed with major recording artists, leading music agencies, and/or other artists. - July 26: Phat Cat Swinger – Modern Rock, Swing, and Jazz
Phat Cat Swinger is the ultimate pop/hard-swing band led by founder, Marco Palos. Their unique blend of rock, swing, and jazz infused with modern sensibilities sets them apart and, with a powerhouse 11-piece group, their performances are nothing short of legendary. - August 2: The Mariachi Divas – Classic Mariachi Music
With a career spanning 25 years, the critically acclaimed all-female Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea specializes in providing professional mariachi music for live concerts, commercials, television, and film recordings. A two-time GRAMMY Award winner, with eight GRAMMY nominations and three Latin GRAMMY nominations, the ensemble continues to expand the scope of mariachi music, delighting audiences from around the world. - August 9: Upstream – Steel Drum Reggae and Soca Band
Upstream has been spreading their message of love and positivity through their exhilarating Caribbean music, including Reggae, Calypso, Soca, and Steel Drum music, for many years. They have mesmerized audiences throughout the world and brought many to kneel at their altar of ultimate enjoyment. With a multi-talented line up of some of the most experienced and enlightened musicians in their camp, they continue to spread joy to an army of enthusiastic fans.
The Rotary Club of Altadena will be selling beer and wine throughout the entire summer concert series.
