Local residents are invited to meet with leaders from the Civilian Oversight Commission to discuss deputy gangs in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Residents are encouraged to share their experience with Sheriff’s deputies and their observations and thoughts on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:00 am to noon:
- Deputy gangs whose members engage in misconduct.
- Accounts of deputy wrongdoings that violate policy or are unlawful.
- Courtesy and professionalism of patrol deputies.

Next steps
After listening to public feedback & conducting research, Commission staff work with ad hoc committees to prepare recommendations to the Sheriff’s Department, the Board of Supervisors and the public. As the Commission works to boost transparency & accountability, community input drives the ongoing analysis of the department’s policies, practices & procedures.
