Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena is famous for its Old Pasadena shops lining its sidewalks.

      By News Desk

On New Year’s Eve 2023, we started strolling the famous Boulevard. It began to resemble a war torn zone. People bring all kinds of stuff to make their overnight stay bearable in anticipation of the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.

The Parade on the Boulevard will be beamed out to more than 125 countries all over the world.

The Boulevard is jammed packed with cars. Residents and visitors are advised to take Green and Union (one way streets) as they’re designed to alleviate traffic.

Merchandise locations are sprinkled throughout the Boulevard. Eric (last name withheld) said he will be closing shop shortly after 6:00 pm. He’ll be back at 4:00 am as he expects the sales to pick up by then. Sarah Soucey, from Sun City, has been coming to the parade for 41 years. “It’s a family tradition,” she said. Jessica and her husband (who grew up in Pasadena) have been coming to the parade for 8 years, since their first son was born.

As music was emanating from car stereos and hand held devices, people were lining up to eat at local eateries or street food vendors.
