According to police, officers responded to the bank as part of an identity theft investigation. The suspect, later identified as Curtis Graham of New Jersey, had used a fraudulent ID and ATM card to withdraw $25,000 from a victim’s account.
Graham then attempted to withdraw additional funds from the victim’s savings account. However, the unusually large transaction raised suspicions with the bank teller, who began asking verification questions. At that point, Graham reportedly became nervous and fled the bank in a panic.
The teller confronted him outside the building, leading to a physical altercation. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and quickly separated the two.
Graham was arrested at the scene and booked into the Alhambra Police Department Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
