Altadena Library is proving once more to be the focal point for cool activities in the area.

The first Altadena Clean Air Day Celebration and Fair will take place at the Altadena Library’s Community Room and will focus on helping clean the air in a fun and friendly environment.

Hosted by the Altadena Library, in partnership with Altadenans for Clean, Healthy Air, Altadena Heritage, and the Safe Streets & Mobility Committee of the Altadena Town Council, this “power to the people” event will showcase demonstrations and displays of alternatives to leaf blowers, alternatives to driving, and how trees can help clean the air.  Speaker Shawn Maestretti will touch on “Regenerative Landscapes for Clean Air.” Representatives from Day One, Clean Power Alliance, and Citizens Climate Lobby, plus L.A. County Public Health and Public Works, and South Coast Air Quality Management District will be on hand to answer any questions.

There will be raffles and prizes, refreshments, and special activities for children. The down and dirty “Leafblowers Blues,”performed by Alta-Notes Boogie-Woogie Band, will kick off the festivities.
