The net proceeds from the inaugural Altadena Forever Run will be revealed Tuesday evening, offering the first official accounting of how much the community fundraiser generated for fire recovery and public safety efforts.

      By News Desk

More than 3,000 participants braved rainy conditions on January 4, 2026, to take part in the 10K, 5K and 1K Family Run, a show of unity in the wake of the Eaton Fire. Now, organizers will announce the net amount raised, reflecting funds remaining after event expenses, at the 7:00 pm Altadena Town Council meeting on Feb. 17 at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive.

Run Co-Chairs Ethan Marquez and Victoria Knapp will formally present checks detailing the distribution of proceeds.

Two-thirds of the net proceeds will be directed to the Altadena Eaton Fire Relief Fund, which provides direct financial grants to Eaton Fire survivors. The remaining one-third will benefit the Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena, supporting its mission to enhance public safety and community programs, particularly as displaced residents return home.

The Altadena Forever Run was made possible through a partnership between the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Athletic Association and the Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena, along with the support of volunteers, donors and sponsors.

Organizers previously described the turnout as overwhelming and expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity. Tuesday’s announcement is expected to underscore the tangible impact of that support as Altadena continues its recovery.

“We are absolutely overwhelmed—in the best possible way—by the generosity and turnout for this inaugural Run,” said Run Co-Chairs Ethan Marquez and Victoria Knapp. “This effort was powered by registration fees, individual donations, and the extraordinary support of our sponsors. We are deeply grateful to SoCalGas, AXON, First City Credit Union, East West Bank, GoFundMe, Toyota of Pasadena, and Disney for stepping up for Altadena when it mattered most. This Run showed what’s possible when a community comes together—and we’re already looking ahead with excitement to the next Altadena Forever Run on January 10, 2027.”
