The Altadena Town Council will meet virtually for its monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Community members can tune in live at Pasadena Media’s YouTube channel.

The meeting will begin with a flag salute led by Shé Shé Yancy, followed by a roll call by Recording Secretary Kim Yu and approval of the evening’s agenda by Vice Chair Nic Arnzen.
Council officers will present updates, including Chair Victoria Knapp, Vice Chair Arnzen, Secretary Yu, who will also seek approval of the May 20 minutes, Treasurer Milissa Marona, and Corresponding Secretary Connor Cipolla.
Public safety updates will be provided by Acting-Captain Ethan Marquez from the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, officers from the California Highway Patrol, and Maria Grycan of L.A. County Fire.
The Council will also hear community reports from representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Altadena Libraries, L.A. County Parks, Southern California Edison (SCE), and the local water utility, UWS.
Special presentations are expected from Cal Fire’s Chief Daniel Berlant, the State Fire Marshal, as well as an anticipated update from Regional Planning.
Committee chairs will report on key topics such as land use, elections, legislation, renters’ protection, by-laws, communications, education, and fire recovery efforts.
Public comments are welcomed in advance and must be submitted by 12:00 pm PDT on June 17 to PublicComment@altadenatowncouncil.org. Comments will be read into the record and should not exceed two minutes. While the Council does not respond to comments during the meeting, residents are encouraged to include contact details and location info for any follow-up.
Census tract representatives from areas 4602, 4610, and 4611 will also provide updates before the meeting is adjourned.
