On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the vibrant communities of Altadena and Pasadena will gather at Metropolitan Baptist Church (2283 N. Fair Oaks Ave.) from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm for the 5th Annual DENA Juneteenth Celebration.

This year’s event promises a powerful day of excitement, joy, and resilience, emphasizing collective healing under the banner “US CARE – After the Fire.”
The 2025 DENA Juneteenth celebration promises an uplifting Wellness Festival filled with music, dance, healing circles, food, games, raffles, gift cards, and a special appearance by a surprise guest. Attendees will also enjoy live entertainment, a kids’ community area, Father’s Day gifts, and much more.
This year’s festival places a strong emphasis on healing and community wellness following the Eaton Canyon fire. A cornerstone of the day’s mission is to foster resilience through connection, education, and empowerment.

- My TRIBE Rise Academic Scholarship Program, which will award $50,000 in scholarships to Pasadena Unified high school seniors affected by the Eaton Canyon fire

Under the banner of “Peace in the Park DENA,” organizers aim to restore, rebuild, and rejuvenate the spirit of community through intentional healing and joy.
“This celebration is a testimony to the power of unity, culture, and care,” said Heavenly Hughes. “We are honoring our ancestors and leaders by investing in our youth, supporting wellness, and building resilient communities.”
Scholarship Opportunity for PUSD Seniors
The My Tribe Rise Education Scholarship, supported by Stars, is open to all Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) graduating seniors or G.E.D. recipients impacted by the Eaton Canyon fire. The program will award a total of $50,000 in scholarships to help young people thrive through education.
