Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis hailed the formation of the Task Force as a key step toward reshaping county governance with a focus on equity, transparency, and community representation.
“The formation of Los Angeles County’s Governance Reform Task Force marks a significant milestone in the implementation of Measure G,” Solis said in a statement. “I am proud of the diverse representation within the Task Force, which is reflective of the many communities throughout Los Angeles County.”
The GRTF, formed in response to voter approval of Measure G in November, is charged with recommending reforms to the county’s governing structure. Solis emphasized the speed with which the initiative has moved forward and underscored the Task Force’s broad representation—including voices from business, labor unions, local government, unincorporated communities, and grassroots organizations.
Among those appointed to the Task Force is Brian Calderon Tabatabai, who played a key role in selecting the five at-large members. Solis also highlighted the nominations of Nancy Yap, Rosa Soto, and Julia Mockeridge, commending their ability to bring critical perspectives, particularly for AAPI communities and unincorporated areas.
“The effort to ensure a broad range of perspectives reflects Angelenos’ support for an inclusive approach,” Solis said. “I look forward to the important work the Task Force will embark upon later this month to bring transparent and meaningful reforms to County governance.”
The GRTF is expected to begin its formal work in the coming weeks, with public engagement and policy development as central pillars of its mission.
