Just before the cutting of the cake ceremony during Pasadena’s 128th Birthday celebration yesterday, Colorado Boulevard had a chat with Mayor Bill Bogaard. We touched on the upcoming mayoral race. We were eager to know if the Mayor is planning to run for another term. It’s a question on the minds of many Pasadenans and anyone interested in the welfare of the City. Here’s what the Mayor had to say:
Mayor, you are a staple of Pasadena. You are loved by many Pasadenans, and you are well known outside the city borders as well. Are you going to run for office again?
(Laughs), I wish I could respond to that. I just haven’t made a decision yet. You know my term runs until middle of next year. I love every minute of serving, and I certainly would hate to see that come to an end.
O.K. We can read between the lines. [Mayor Bogaard lets out a big laugh.] Will we be the first to know? Will you let us know first?
Well, give me your card and I’ll try to be loyal to my commitment to keep you informed.
And with that, we gave our card to the Mayor.
As Colorado Boulevard celebrates its first anniversary next Saturday, June 28, 2014, we commit ourselves to working even harder to serve the greater Pasadena area with the utmost respect and deep love that will carry us on for 100 years more. Amongst all the fine institutions celebrating their birthdays in this wonderful city this year, we are the new kid on the block, and we would certainly like to be the first to inform Pasadenans of Mayor Bogaard’s future plans.
Stay tuned to Colorado Boulevard. When we get the scoop, you’ll be the first to know!
