PHOTO OF THE DAY

Where’s the sun? (Photo Reg Green)
Normally my early morning hike is an up and down on a well-marked dirt road, though every few days I add extra zest by deviating and scrambling down a cliffside, pushing along an overgrown deer trail where a snake would be hard to see or retracing my steps through tangled undergrowth that looked so different on the way in.

But the most dangerous stretch of any day is the drive home on this stretch which, after almost empty streets, has single walkers, couples, joggers, dogs, even strollers plus the blinding morning sun shining directly in my face.
Today, however. Just a harmless orange ball hanging in the sky.
