Pasadena Elections: Madison Endorses Gordo in Apparent Jab to Tornek

Pasadena Councilman Steve Madison announced his endorsement of his fellow Councilman Victor Gordo for Mayor of Pasadena.  This is the second time that Madison has supported a candidate running against Terry Tornek, the current Mayor. In 2015, Madison supported Councilwoman Jacque Kennedy for the position.

      By News Desk

Here’s Councilmember Steve Madison letter to the community:

Pasadena is a great city that deserves a great Mayor. A leader who is collaborative, progressive and inclusive. A consensus builder who really listens to and is respectful of all in our community. Someone in the tradition of my great friend and mentor, former Mayor Bill Bogaard. It therefore came as no surprise that Bill Bogaard was one of the earliest supporters of Victor‘s Mayoral candidacy.

Having worked alongside Gordo since 2001, Madison said he’s seen first-hand Gordo’s “dedication to Pasadena, his tireless work ethic, and most notably his ability to forge solutions to our City’s challenges that are borne of broad-based participation and support.

None of us is yet Bill Bogaard, but in our critical November Mayoral election Victor Gordo is undoubtedly the candidate who best embodies the ‘Pasadena Way’

Although the current Mayor is an experienced technocrat, regrettably he has actually repudiated consensus building and collaboration in favor of an autocratic style completely lacking cooperation or even transparency vis-à-vis the community and his fellow Councilmembers.

I am proud to join Bill and thousands of other fellow-Pasadenans in supporting Victor.

      > If the elections were held today, who would you vote for?
