      Two major events compete with each other this weekend, the popular Eagle Rock Music Festival with indie music and different stages and the ever popular Music Under the Stars with the Pasadena Symphony and POPS joined by the JPL Chorus taking place on the steps of City Hall.

      Friday

      – 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Free First Friday at PMCA

      Visit a museum for free (@ Pasadena Museum of California Art).

      – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Francisco López: Hyper-Rainforest

      Hyper-Rainforest [space-shifted portable version] is a monumental sound piece, both in duration and in spatial terms, created from original environmental recordings done between 1990 and 2010 at multiple locations of tropical, sub-tropical and cold rainforests in: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Gambia, Mexico, Myanmar (Burma), New Zealand, Paraguay, Peru, Japan, Senegal, South Africa, USA, and Venezuela. (@ Sphæræ).

      Norton Simon– 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm: Free Norton Simon Museum Admission

      Visit a museum for free (@ Norton Simon Museum).

      – 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm: REALSPACE Opening Night

      Art show – Part of A × S (ak-sis) FESTIVAL (@ Art Center College of Design).

      – 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm: Alice Through the Wormhole

      A work-in-progress of a wild, original new conception of Alice within the universe of Caltech (@ Caltech).

      Saturday

      – 8:30 am: Car-caravan Geology Tour

      Geologist Bill Neill will be your guide for this all-day car-caravan geology tour (@ See listing).

      – 10:00 am – 11:30 pm: Produce in the Park in Monrovia

      Homegrown produce and plants exchanged (@ Monrovia Library Park).

      – 10:30 am – 12:00 pm: Silk Road Story Time

      Gather in the travelers’ tent for fabulous tales from along the Silk Road, plus a fun hands-on craft, Asian snack, and balloon (@ USC Pacific Asia Musuem).

      Eagle Rock Music Festival– 400 pm – 11:30 pm: Eagle Rock Music Festival

      A variety of innovative, multicultural and local music (@ See Listing).

      – 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm: Music Under the Stars @ City Hall

      Join the Pasadena Symphony and POPS for a free concert under the stars (@ Steps of City Hall).

      – 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm: One Colorado Music on Saturdays

      Jimetta Rose – Soul music (@ One Colorado).

       

      Sunday Nature’s Brunch

      – 9:00 pm – 10:30 am: Nature’s Brunch @ Cottonwood Canyon

      Enjoy hand-held acorn pancakes and fruit while you learn more about Cottonwood Canyon and the efforts to save it (@ See Listing).

      – 10:00 am – 8:00 pm: A × S (ak-sis) FESTIVAL 2014

      Last day of the festival. Warning: Although this festival has a handful of FREE events, some still cost money.  (@ Various locations).

      5- Our pets are our furry children and if we happen to work at an actual office, we leave work twice a day to check on them– 11:00 am: Blessing of the Animals
